Ciudad Evita, the pilot project

The project stemmed from the need to anticipate and prepare measures to address climate change, the thinning of the ozone layer, the excessive emission of carbon dioxide and other pollutants into the atmosphere, the greenhouse effect, the proliferation of garbage, depletion of natural resources, population growth, urbanization disorderly and other natural and technologic phenomenons.

To this end, IARCOS aimed to develop a pilot project in the community of Ciudad Evita, in La Matanza, Province of Buenos Aires, where they initiated educative programs designed to facilitate and promote the adoption of policies, methods and tools to accelerate the movement towards the concept of sustainable communities.
